Singapore hope Tay Wei Ming beat Vietnam's Phan Hong Tuan 21-10, 21-12 to finish second in his group, advancing to the quarter-finals of the Asean Para Games badminton tournament yesterday.
Tay, who won gold in the 2011 edition in the SU4 class, is competing this year in the higher and more difficult SU5 class, where he is up against the likes of Suryo Nugroho, who led the Indonesians to the team gold, and Malaysian world No. 1 Cheah Liek Hou.
