SINGAPORE - The Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) kicked off its quarterly coaching clinic with a dash of Olympic stardust on Friday morning at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

Some 150 swimming coaches from the region and members of the public attended the inaugural "Swim with Us by Sergio Lopez" coaching clinic, held by national coach and Olympic bronze medallist Sergio Lopez.

Lopez was joined by guest speaker Eddie Reese, a three-time head coach of the United States Olympics men's swimming team. Reese also coaches the University of Texas swim team, which Singapore swimmer Joseph Schooling is part of. He is in town for the SEA Games as one of the Singapore swim team's coaches.

The initiative is part of SSA's recently launched "Swim With Us" campaign, a series of community outreach programmes that seeks to bring the sport and its athletes closer to the public.
