Schools Sports: Catholic High win C Div softball crown after beating St Gabriel's 9-3

Catholic High School defeated first-time finallists St Gabriel's Secondary 9-3 to win the Schools National C Division boys' softball title.

Going into the fifth and final inning, Catholic High have already built up a 9-0 lead, before St Gabriel's players managed to score three points before sealing the win.

Catholic High finally emerged tops for the first time since 2009. They had fallen at the final hurdle for three out of the last six years.

Their captain and catcher Joshua Tan said after the victory: "We were very hungry to win this, we wanted revenge after our losses."

Coach Koh Ruoh Jie said: "it's such a huge achievement for the school."
