Raffles Institution (RI) emerged as the top school at the Schools National Shooting Championships on Thursday, with five titles in the team events across A, B and C Divisions.

It also completed a clean sweep of the individual air rifle titles in the girls' A Division and all three boys' divisions.

Coach Li Jie said: "In shooting, it is hard to determine who will be the champions as the situation varies every time. Our performance was very good and I am happy with the results."

The Singapore Sports School (SSP) and Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) were the next best schools, each collecting three team titles.

Held at the Safra Yishun Indoor Air Weapons Range, the six-day event saw four division records broken, while Raffles Girls' School and SSP equalled the record for the girls' C Division air rifle competition with a combined score of 1,155 points.
