Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) struck gold at the Schools National Judo individual finals as they claimed 13 out of the 20 titles available to them across the A, B and C divisions.

The HCI C division boys set the tone with a clean sweep of all five titles in the different weight categories (Feather, Extra Light, Light, Middle and Heavy), before Trevor Tan added one more title in the B division boys light weight category. The A division boys and girls topped it off by securing seven out of 10 remaining gold medals.

Fellow powerhouses Raffles Institution struggled to cope with HCI's dominance in the 20 finals that they competed in, and were restricted to only four titles.

Meanwhile, the girls' B and C divisions were dominated by Nanyang Girls' High School and Raffles Girls' School, which finished with five and four golds respectively out of the 10 they challenged for.
