School sports: CHIJ Toa Payoh rule B and C Division netball with dominant wins

CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) concluded a dominant schools netball season, clinching both the Schools National B and C Division netball titles at Jurong East Sports and Cultural Centre on Tuesday.

Winning every of their zonal and national games this year, CHIJ came into the finals as hot favourites and full of confidence, having already defeated their finals opponents.

Their C Division girls' team duly trounced Dunman Secondary School 34-15 to retain their title.

The B division team had a tougher time against the Singapore Sports School, and were leading by only 19-14 after three quarters. However, a stirring team talk during the break spurred the girls to a brilliant fourth quarter as they won 31-16 to regain the trophy which they narrowly lost last year.

Results - C Division: 1 CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) 2 Dunman Secondary School 3 Singapore Sports School 4 Cedar Girls' Secondary School. B Division: 1 CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) 2 Singapore Sports School 3 St. Margaret's Secondary School 4 Raffles Girls' School.
