Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) have reclaimed the C Division water polo title from ACS (Barker) on Friday after winning the final 7-5.

In a thrilling final played at the Co-Curricular Activities Branch at Evans Road, ACS (I), champions from 2008-2012, made amends for losing to their rivals in last year's final.

ACS (Barker) raced to a two-goal lead but in an evenly-matched match, ACS (I) clawed back to equalise as the final was tied at 4-4 at the start of the last quarter.

ACS (I) finally went ahead through a goal from Hong Yan Jie to end the defending champions' resistance. Two further late goals ensured that the title returned to ACS (I).

ACS(I) captain Sean Sng, 14, said: "We were 2-0 down at the start but our coach, Luo Nan, kept encouraging us. We couldn't have won without him.

"We lost last year so the feeling after winning today is indescribable."

ACS (Barker) captain Vance Tay has promised to wrestle the title back from their waterpolo rivals next year, saying: "We are quite proud of today's game because we played better than expected.

"Next year, we can take back the championship, and perhaps in the B Division too."
