Rugby: World Cup winner Richard Hill named new England team manager

London (AFP) - World Cup winner Richard Hill has been appointed to the newly-created post of England team manager, the Rugby Football Union announced on Wednesday.

Hill will provide off-field back-up to both England head coach Eddie Jones' staff and his players.

The former back-row forward, who perviously worked with Jones at reigning English and European title-holders Saracens, will take up his post with Six Nations Grand Slam champions England on October 2 ahead of their end-of-year Test campaign.

"Richard is an icon of English rugby and I'm very pleased he has agreed to join the management team," Jones said.
