Rugby: Singapore drawn with Hong Kong and China in HSBC Asian Rugby Sevens Series

Hosts Singapore will have to get past Hong Kong and China if they want to progress past the group stages of this weekend's HSBC Asian Rugby Seven Series.

The top two in each of the four three-team groups will progress to the Cup quarter-finals. Singapore will be hoping to better last year's eighth-placed finish. Singapore Rugby Union president Low Teo Ping conducted the team draw on Tuesday morning.

The Singapore competition is the final stop of the four-leg Asian series. The top two teams will qualify for the Hong Kong leg of the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series next year.

The two-day event will be held at the Yio Chu Kang stadium on Nov 9 and 10. Tickets, priced at $10 for two days, can be purchased at www.ticketbooth.com.sg.
