BUDAPEST - Every once in a while, it's nice to have a reminder of why I do what I do. The monotony of the regiment and rigours of the programme can sometimes drive me into a robotic cycle of eat, sleep and swim on repeat, to the point where I sometimes forget my purpose. Being here in Hungary, surrounded by some of the best in the world, my sense of self is strengthened.
The circuit breaker at home put many things on hold, and for a period of time, at least in regards to swimming, it felt as if everything was at a standstill. Ever since I got here, I feel like I finally let go of this really deep breath that I've been holding in for a long time.
