SINGAPORE - Towards the end of his six-round bout against Malaysian Keng Fai Hui at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last April, Singaporean professional boxer Alexandrew David suffered a nasty cut on his right eyebrow.

The gash was bad enough for the ringside doctor to advise him to go to a hospital, where David received 13 stitches.
