Polytrack may well bring out the best in Fairy Knight

Race 1 (1,200m)

(1) ELUSIVE BLACK was heavily backed on local debut, off a long break, but he found one better. He will strip fitter this time but does try the Polytrack for the first time.

(6) RIVER FERN is threatening to win a race and should fight out the finish.

(5) MAGNUS THE GOOD seems capable of better than a moderate last run and has a place chance.

(2) MISS TAKES was unreliable in Gauteng but can improve trying the Polytrack after a change of trainer.

Race 2 (1,400m)

A small field but an interesting race.

(4) NORTH STAR is still learning her racing and should make a bold bid at scoring.

(3) ROYAL CITY GIRL is weighted to win this race comfortably but was behind that rival on the turf last time. She does appear a much better horse on the Polytrack, so do not be surprised if she turns that form on its head.

(1) TWILIGHT BAY seems at her very best on the turf but is distance-suited and can go start-to-finish.

(5) SHORI KAI is showing promise and could be better than rated.

Race 3 (1,400m)

(3) POMEROL was not disgraced on local debut and could do even better trying the Polytrack.

(1) IZANAMI showed improvement on local debut and could go one better this time.

(6) RIPSNORTER has raced only three times, so has scope for improvement and is not out of it.

(5) AMANATTO has been a disappointment of late but could contest the finish in this weak race.

Race 4 (1,400m)

A very open looking race.

(1) FAIRY KNIGHT has not been at his very best of late but does have a very good record on the Polytrack and looks hard to oppose.

(2) USA’S HOPE clearly likes this surface and should be right there at the finish yet again.

(5) IMAGINABLE is in very good shape but does have it all to do at these weights.

(3) MR FOX, (4) THE AFRICA HOUSE and (6) ANATOLIAN SILVER are not reliable but could battle it out for minor money.

Race 5 (1,200m)

(1) ALESIA’S LOVE has shown improvement of late and could be ready for a winning turn.

(3) PRISCILLA MAISEY has been a disappointment of late but is not out of it.

(8) MAKE BELIEVE is progressing well enough to win a race of this nature.

(5) AVERNIAN GODDESS and (7) SCHIPOLE make their local debuts. Can be surprise winners.

Stable companion (2) KINGS AGAIN is doing well in 2025 and can contest the finish.

Race 6 (1,400m)

(2) GREEN ISLE suffered her first defeat in three starts on this surface when an unlucky third last time. She is better over farther but does look the right one with luck needed in running.

(5) JAMBO SANA is having a good year and can get involved with the finish yet again.

(3) UMZOLOZOLO is in good form and can contest the finish again.

(9) LADY BOMBER is improving and is clearly not out of it.

(4) JET LAVISH makes her local debut and could improve.

Race 7 (1,900m)

A competitive-looking race.

(2) OUTBACK EXPRESS is a consistent sort and deserves to have his winning turn.

(4) PICK A POMODORO and (5) BUGLE have both shown improvement of late and are not out of it.

(1) MYSTIC VISION makes his local debut and could be capable of a first victory trying this surface.

Race 8 (2,200m)

A difficult last race.

(11) SAN QUINTIN did not show his best last time but is capable of winning a race like this if showing his best form.

(4) GINGER DELIGHT tries further and should contest the finish.

(2) A BIT CHILLY has been in good form of late and has claims.

(1) ALADO’S PRIDE holds his form very well for his age and would not be a surprise winner.
