Combatant Sheik Fayz (right) of Seni Grasio swatting aside an attempted strike by Irfan Zainudin of Sendeng Belalang at the 42nd National Pencak Silat Championships at Heartbeat@Bedok yesterday. Singapore's two-time silat world champion Sheik Alau'ddin's youngest son Fayz, 15, beat Irfan 5-0 in the final of the male Junior (Under-17) Class G category. Grasio claimed the overall title for the 10th consecutive year, with a haul of 45 golds across the tanding (match) and seni (artistic) categories. Sendeng Belalang finished runners-up with 19 golds, while Seligi Tunggal Angkatan Singapura were third with nine golds.
