Ice skater Pagiel Sng moves to Denver to train for SEA Games

Skater takes gap year from Sports School to link up with American coach; targets podium finish at Games

Pagiel Sng's list of firsts this year includes him relocating to Denver, Colorado, competing in the senior men's category of the National Figure Skating Championships and, if selected, being Singapore's first male figure skater at the Nov 30-Dec 11 SEA Games.

The 14-year-old, who left for Colorado earlier this week, met the SEA Games qualification mark last month with a technical element score of 20.26 for the short programme and 31.09 for the free skate at the 51st Golden Spin competition in Zagreb, Croatia.
