SINGAPORE - Mark Chan broke new ground when he became the first sports climber to represent Singapore at the Youth Olympics last year. The 19-year-old, who finished 13th out of 21 in Buenos Aires, is aiming for another breakthrough next year.
The Temasek Polytechnic aerospace engineering student is bidding to qualify for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo, where sport climbing will make its debut.
