About 500 athletes aged 35 and above will be taking part in the two-day Singapore Masters Open Track and Field Championships at the Toa Payoh Stadium. Yesterday saw the competition's most senior athlete, 85-year-old Chan Meng Hui, getting a fine start in the 100m sprint. He clocked 24.02sec and was declared winner of his men's over-80 category as his one other Indonesian rival did not start.
