The team that will represent Singapore at the Dec 7-13 netball Nations Cup will remain largely unchanged from the side that won the Asian Championship earlier this year, with just one new addition.

Netball Singapore announced its team line-up for the annual tournament on Tuesday, with Pamela Liew the only new addition. Liew, who has two caps, will add to Singapore's attacking options, playing in either goal attack or goal shooter.

Veteran defender Lin Qingyi, with 76 caps, will continue to lead the side as captain. She will be assisted by co-vice-captains Chen Huifen (88) and Nurul Baizura (45).

Said Lin: "I am honoured to continue my role as captain and was delighted with the way the team played at the Asian Championship. I hope we can build from that experience and up our level of performance for this next challenge of the Nations Cup."

The Nations Cup, now into its ninth edition, will feature the Republic of Ireland, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Botswana, Samoa on top of hosts Singapore.

"The level of competition will be extremely high with Samoa, Botswana and Papua New Guinea ranked higher than us... We have a few more weeks to fine-tune our game plan in training. We hope we can put in some good performances and get the crowds along to support us. That always makes such a difference to the team," added Lin.

The event will be held at the OCBC Arena at the Singapore Sports Hub. Tickets for all six days of action are on sale now from Netball Singapore with special offers for concessions and school parties available. For more information, go to www.netball.org.sg
