SINGAPORE missed out on a chance at regaining a trophy they last lifted in 2007 when the national netball team were beaten 52-29 Saturday by Uganda in the final of the Nations Cup.

The defeat is a repeat of their round-robin match earlier in the week, when the Republic lost 32-60.

While the team regrouped after thay defeat and appeared much more in control of the match at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, the African side's superior defence stood in the way of many of the hosts' attempts at goal.

Papua New Guinea finished the six-nation tournament in third place after beating Sri Lanka 60-48, while Ireland took fifth place when they beat the United States 61-26.
