SINGAPORE - Netball Singapore has signed a year-long deal with Volkswagen, making the German carmaker Netball Singapore's official car sponsor for 2015.

The partnership was announced yesterday at the Volkswagen Exclusive showroom in MacPherson Road.

Volkswagen Group Singapore presented the seven-seater Volkswagen Touran TDI to Netball Singapore national coach, Ruth Aitken, and the national players. It will be used by them for national training and similar requirements.

The partnership is a boost for Netball Singapore, who will have a busy year ahead of them, with their SEA Games campaign starting on May 31, the Netball World Cup from Aug 7-16 in Sydney and the Nations Cup from Dec 13-19 in Singapore.

Ms Jessica Tan, president of Netball Singapore, was delighted with the partnership. She said: "This partnership comes at a very crucial period...We are in our final preparations for the SEA Games and the sponsored vehicle will come in very handy."
