SINGAPORE - More than 500 people turned up for the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge at the Kallang Netball Centre on Saturday.

They were there to compete in the social and competitive categories, but also to witness New Zealand netball legends Irene van Dyk and Casey Kopua play against each other in a friendly exhibition game.

Current Silver Ferns captain Kopua headed a team of M1 senior executives against van Dyk, who led a team of Members of Parliament consisting of Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth Sim Ann, Minister of State for Education, and Communications and Information Dr Janil Puthucheary, Education and Trade and Industry Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling, and Ms Jessica Tan.

Van Dyk's team won the 14-minute game 5-2.

As an appreciation of the MPs' participation, M1 will donate $50,000 to underprivileged children and youth-at-risk causes of their adopted charities.
