Edwina Woo picked up stand-up paddling after an upheaval in her life and competed in her first overseas race last year. Now, she is looking to represent Singapore at the International Canoe Federation Stand-Up Paddling World Championships in Pattaya.

SINGAPORE – The sea has been described as angry, stormy, turbulent. But, amidst a “personal crisis” in 2021, the open water was a place of solace for Edwina Woo. That was when she picked up stand up paddling.

As a mother of three and learning facilitator, she is used to putting up a brave front in public and showing only her happy face.
