Besides enjoying an early morning run at the Padang with friends and family, participants in The Straits Times Run on July 16 can look forward to a bigger pool of prizes.
Panasonic, the presenting sponsor for the fifth year running, has lined up attractive prizes worth up to $50,000 as part of its 99th anniversary bonanza.
For a start, the grand prize in the post-race lucky draw this year is a Panasonic 65-inch 4K OLED television worth $10,999. For the men and women's 18.45km competitive run, winners will take home a Panasonic 58-inch 4K Ultra-HD television worth $2,999.
The second-place finishers will receive a Panasonic Robotic Vacuum worth $1,599, while the third-place prize is a Panasonic steam combination oven worth $699.
Winners of the 10km competitive run will get a Panasonic 50-inch 4K Ultra-HD television worth $1,999.
Runners-up will receive a Panasonic Lumix G 4K DSLM camera worth $1,249, while third-place finishers will get a Panasonic steam oven worth $399.
All winners will also receive New Balance vouchers worth between $100 and $300, depending on their results.
All registered runners will receive complimentary personal accident insurance by Great Eastern, a limited edition New Balance "NB Dry" running vest and finishers' tee, and a finishers' medal.
Consumer electronics and home appliances giant Panasonic has also prepared a programme of events before, during and after the ST Run.
In a first, 15 winners will receive $10,000 worth of Panasonic products in the Spot and Win online contest that ends on July 2.
For the Guess the Word and Win competition on Facebook, which runs from next Monday to July 9, a Panasonic Juicer Blender worth $289 is up for grabs.
Taking place from today till July 20, the Pledge and Win contest will have a weekly winner, while the My ST Hall of Fame Facebook and Instagram competition will give away three sets of the Panasonic DMC-GF9K camera, worth $799 each.
Panasonic Singapore director Daniel Tan said: "Besides it being our fifth year as ST Run's presenting sponsor, this time, it is also a 99th year bonanza celebration for us, leading up to the Panasonic brand's 100th anniversary next year.
"The public can expect a fun- filled line-up of activities, contests and giveaways before, during and after the event day itself."
