Singapore - The Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC), the largest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organisation in the world, has confirmed two additional bouts for its live event on June 17, 2017 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

UFC Fight Night Singapore will see an explosive welterweight war in which former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (25-9-0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) makes his divisional debut against Tarec Saffiedine (16-6-0, fighting out of Brussels, Belgium).

Dos Anjos is regarded as one of the pound-for-pound best lightweight fighters on the planet. A high-volume striker, Dos Anjos has torn a path though the division, facing and defeating major names such as Donald Cerrone, Nate Diaz, Benson Henderson and Anthony Pettis.

Dos Anjos' first fight at welterweight signals a new contender in an already stacked division.

The last time Saffiedine fought in Singapore, he walked away with a bonus of US$50,000 (S$69,884) for the Fight of the Night against South Korea's Lim Hyun Gyu on Jan 4, 2014.

Come June 17, the UFC's first Belgian fighter will look to do the same, and a decisive win over a former champion like dos Anjos will be a key step in getting the No. 10-ranked Saffiedine on a clear path to a title shot and possible UFC gold.

Budding prospect Naoki Inoue (10-0, fighting out of Toyohashi, Japan) will also make his UFC debut in Singapore.

Undefeated in his professional career, Inoue leads a new generation of Japanese prospects out to prove that the heart of the Samurai is very much alive in the 21st century.

He will be facing off against fellow undefeated fighter Carls "Golden Boy" John de Tomas in the Octagon (6-0, fighting out of the Quezon City, Philippines).

Coming from one of the boxing capitals of the world, de Tomas is a unique product, a second-generation fighter who comes to the UFC, with half of his professional wins coming by way of submission.
