SINGAPORE - Mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Conor McGregor risks diluting his legacy as one of the greats of the sport if he continues to be mired in controversies outside the cage, without proving himself inside it.

That is the view of veteran Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Frankie Edgar, who is in town for the grand opening of the first UFC Gym Singapore - the fitness franchise of the world's top MMA organisation on Friday (March 15).
