Male paddlers miss out on medal

Singapore's table tennis contingent yesterday scored another unwanted first when the men's team lost 0-3 to England in the Commonwealth Games bronze-medal tie.

It marked the first time the Republic have failed to win a medal in the men's event since the sport was introduced at the 2002 Games, and follows the women's shock loss to India in the team final on Sunday.
