SportsHero is a home-grown prediction app which has expanded to India and Indonesia

Football has a number of competing origin stories but, whichever you believe, at some point a group of people came together and "gamified" idle ball-kicking by coming up with a bunch of rules.

Put those primeval footballers into the Kazan Arena for the World Cup Group C match between France and Australia today and, chances are, they will still be able to recognise the spirit if not the form of the game.
