Race 1 (1,000m)
(10) LAYDELAY is much better than her last run on Sept 27. Blinkers on and she drops in trip to 1,000m. On her best form, she can certainly win.
(1) WHATASTAR has been a touch disappointing of late. She will improve now that she is up the straight again at Kenilworth. She can upset at a decent price.
(2) MORFELIHA ran a much better race at Durbanville on Oct 8. She was beaten only two lengths in third. If she can build on that performance, she can win a race like this.
(4) CRAZY LITTLE THING has run three good races in succession. She has a good each-way chance.
Race 2 (1,200m)
(5) TOUCHED BY ANGELS finished like a train on debut behind Johnny Boy at Greyville on Oct 12. He will improve big time from his first run, even though it is a competitive race on paper.
(10) PROTECTOR OF PEACE stayed on powerfully for third to Marcus Aurelius on debut on Oct 8. If he can build on that performance, he will have a serious winning chance.
(7) GALLIC KING caught the eye on debut in the same race as Protector Of Peace on Oct 8. This lovely colt can trouble them all late.
(13) UMZINGELI WENYATHI stayed on strongly for second behind Freedom Fighter at Durbanville on Oct 15 at his first run in the Western Cape. The blinkers stay on, he will be competitive.
Race 3 (1,200m)
(2) VIXENS WAR stayed on well for fourth, despite having absolutely no luck at Durbanville on Oct 8. With better luck, she will go very close to winning.
(4) IONA CASTLE ran a terrific fourth to Saachi One on debut on Oct 18. She can only improve, include her in all bets.
(6) BLUE LAGOON has run two great races in succession from bad draws at Durbanville. Will love the Kenilworth straight. Major threat on her best form.
(14) TAYLOR’S VERSION drops in trip significantly and gets the blinkers fitted for her race this time around. Her form is consistent; she should be watched closely.
Race 4 (1,400m)
(4) ROSE WOOTT ran a fantastic race from a wide draw on debut at Durbanville on Oct 5. She is extremely well-bred, and she gets a decent draw this time.
(8) NANNIE GOLD powered home for second to Star World on Oct 8. Drawn wide, but she will love the step-up to 1,400m.
(11) HAZEL GREEN never runs a bad race. She stayed on beautifully for second behind Saachi One on Oct 18. If she can beat the bad draw, she will be competitive.
(1) BOOZY SUSIE ran a super fourth behind Midnight Lady on Oct 18. She will appreciate the step-up in trip to 1,400m. From a good draw, she will make them all work for victory.
Race 5 (1,600m)
(1) CAPTAIN WEST stayed on well for fifth in the Grade 3 Matchem Stakes at Durbanville on Sept 27. Even though he has a big weight to shoulder this time, he gets the perfect draw and has fitness on his side.
(6) OKAVANGO has been rested for 120 days. He finished just over six lengths behind The Real Prince in the Durban July. If he does not need the run badly, he can be competitive.
(4) NATIVE RULER has been rested for 120 days. Low flying late to finish just under four lengths off The Real Prince in the Durban July. Watch him closely.
(8) HAT’S PRIDE has been rested for 98 days. He ran third to I Salute You at Greyville on July 27. On his best form, he could upset them all.
Race 6 (1,100m)
(3) SARDINIA BAY quickened off a good speed to win a good race at Durbanville on Oct 5. Big jump in class, but is doing everything right. With no weight on his back, he could be dangerous.
(13) THE US OF A has been rested for 81 days. He ran second to Elusive Winter on Aug 13. Lovely looking horse who will be right there in the finish.
(1) ARCTIC WIZARD is unbeaten since being gelded on Aug 18. He won a cracking race at Durbanville last time, even when he was up in the ratings. He will run a big race again.
(7) KAIBOY is much better than his recent start when last behind Arctic Wizard on Oct 15. He will be just off the speed early, and will be doing some good work late.
Race 7 (1,400m)
(9) RANDOLPH HEARST has been rested and gelded. Beaten just over one length in fourth to stablemate Absolutely Yes on June 21. If he does not need the run badly, he will go close.
(8) ARISTOCRATIC needed his last run back. Eye-catching fourth up the straight at Durbanville on Sept 27. He will be much fitter for this.
(10) GOOD FOR YOU fought all the way for a superb second to All The Rage first-up on Oct 8. He should love the step-up in trip to 1,400m. He can win a race like this just on ability alone.
(7) ABSOLUTELY YES had little luck in running in the Grade 3 Matchem Stakes on Sept 27. Ran fifth with a slipped saddle in a strong field. Keep safe.
Race 8 (1,200m)
(4) STAR MAJOR stayed on beautifully for fourth to What A Fortune in his first-up run at Durbanville on Sept 22. No doubt that he will be much fitter. He will take a lot of beating.
(12) FREEDOM FIGHTER quickened up smartly to win a good race on Oct 15. He will improve with every start.
(5) ONE LINER ran a good third to Gimmie Rules at Durbanville on Oct 15. He will be just off the speed early and running on strongly late.
(11) NIGHTRAIN has been rested for 64 days. Hard-fought maiden win on Aug 30. The form of that race has worked out well.
Race 9 (1,800m)
(1) UP IN FLAMES finished her race off powerfully for second behind Sesame on Sept 13. She will be hard to beat, now that she is stepping up in trip and getting a good draw.
(5) HOMING PIGEON ran much better when staying on for third at Durbanville on Oct 5. If she can bring that form to the track again, she will be competitive.
(10) CASSANDRA has been rested for 74 days. She ran a good second to De Vlugge at Scottsville on Aug 20. If she can beat the tricky draw, she should finish among the places.
(7) RARE EARTH looked ready to win a perfect race last time, but she was very one-paced up the lane and finished almost seven lengths behind the winner. If she can bounce back to her best form, she will be right in the mix.
