Love affair with Kallang gets much-needed spark

It doesn't have the glitter of Jewel Changi Airport, or draw hordes of tourists like Gardens By the Bay. But Kallang has McDonald's, KFC and Decathlon, the sports shopping haven that families flock to at 10pm, as I discovered one Saturday night when I walked into the 24-hour store.

Eating and shopping - easily two things Singaporeans love - as well as an occasional big football game and mega concerts are what draw people to Kallang these days.
