India 187-3 at tea against Sri Lanka in Colombo

COLOMBO, Aug 23 - Electing to bat, India reached 187-3 at tea on the opening day of the second test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday.

• India captain Shubman Gill (50) and Devdutt Padikkal, batting on 63, raised 120 runs for the third wicket.

• Padikkal was dropped twice early in his innings.

• India lost openers KL Rahul (18) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) in the morning session.

• Rishabh Pant is yet to open his account.
