Hot Bods

Melvin Lim, 25, Full-time national serviceman

Height: 1.76m Weight: 73kg

Exercise regimen: I do treadmill power walks for 20 minutes, six times a week in the gym, and I work out my chest muscles, shoulders, back, and legs four times a week. I also do 50 sit-ups and 50 leg raises after each workout.

Diet: I eat oats, almonds, and milk, and fruits such as apples, berries, and oranges every morning. For lunch, I halve my carbohydrate intake, and eat oats, protein shakes, and vegetables such as broccoli. My dinner has no carbs at all - just fruits, vegetables and protein shakes. Once a while, I will have cheap meals such as hor fun, ban mian, and my favourite food which is very cheesy pizza. I avoid fried food and soft drinks. I also don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke.

Vanessa Ang, 20

Height: 1.63m Weight: 45kg

Exercise regimen: I have contemporary and ballet dance training twice a week. Each lesson is three hours, and I consider it my cardio workout. In addition, I do core-muscle exercises at home thrice a week.

Diet: I have yogurt for breakfast, and either noodles or pasta for both lunch and dinner. On days that I do not feel so hungry, I will have a salad or soup for dinner. I am a noodle sort of person, so I hardly eat rice. I stay away from fast food, and eat everything else in moderation. I am also quite a picky eater and don't like a lot of food such as mutton, frog legs, and cauliflower. I do love salmon and eggs in particular. I could eat those all my life!
