SINGAPORE - Fans will be able to catch three of the world's top women's hockey teams in action in the Republic for free from Jan 18-23 next year.
Powerhouses Netherlands (world No.1 and 2012 Olympic champions), Australia (No.2) and Germany (No.5) will slug it out in an inaugural tournament held in Singapore called The Project Group (TPG) International Tri-Series.
The tournament will serve as a warm-up for the teams in their preparation for next August's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. All matches are slated to be held at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium.
Paul Lim, CEO of TPG Singapore said: "Singapore performed well at this year's SEA Games and we wanted to do something to continue driving interest and support for the sport."
The Singapore women's team won a bronze medal during June's SEA Games on home soil.
The three teams will also conduct coaching clinics during their time in Singapore.
