GLASGOW (AFP) - Japan's Kohei Uchimura won the horizontal bar title for his third gold of the world gymnastics championships in Glasgow and 10th world crown in total on Sunday.

It was the first world gold on the apparatus for the 26-year-old who won a sixth all-around title in the Hydro Arena this week after helping Japan to a first men's team title since 1978.

Uchimura had fallen off the high bar during the men's team final but held firm this time scoring 15.833 in the final event of the championships to take the title ahead of American Danell Leyva (15.700) and Cuba's Manrique Larduet (15.600).

The gymnast from Fukuoka finished runner-up last year after taking bronze in 2013 and 2011.
