Gymnastics: Suspended USA Gymnastics coach facing lewdness with a minor charges

LAS VEGAS - A coach suspended by USA Gymnastics in 2018 and by the US Centre for SafeSport in 2019 was arrested on Friday (July 10) by police in Las Vegas and charged with multiple counts of lewdness with a minor.

Terry Gray coached in Las Vegas from 2009 to 2015 and faces 14 counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14 in Las Vegas, according to The New York Times.

If convicted, Gray could face a maximum sentence of life in prison, the district attorney of Nevada's Clark County, Stephen Wolfson, told the Times.

The newspaper said Gray is being held without bail and has a court appearance scheduled for Monday.

SafeSport suspended Gray for two years in October, 2019 for sexual misconduct involving a minor.
