Schumacher can't walk, says his lawyer
LONDON • Michael Schumacher's lawyer has denied, in a court case against a German magazine, claims that the seven-time Formula One world champion can walk again.
Schumacher's family is suing Bunte after it quoted an unnamed friend of the 47-year-old who said Schumacher was able to walk "a couple of steps", following his skiing accident in the Alps in December 2013 which led to him being in coma for six months.
Rangers suspend Barton for 3 weeks
GLASGOW • Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been suspended for three weeks following a meeting yesterday with the club's manager, Mark Warburton.
The midfielder had returned to the Scottish football club for crisis talks after he confirmed last week that he was told to stay away for several days in order to "re-evaluate the way I'm thinking" following a heated argument with team-mate Andy Halliday.
Rodriguez says sorry for tackle on Kohr
BERLIN • Mainz footballer Jose Rodriguez has apologised for his horror foul which cut Augsburg's Dominik Kohr's leg to the bone.
Rodriguez, 21, made his Mainz debut on Sunday when he came on in the 85th minute of his team's 3-1 win, but was sent off just eight minutes later in added time.
'Beef' Johnston earns PGA Tour card
LOS ANGELES • Fan favourite Andrew "Beef" Johnston will gain more welcome exposure to American galleries next season after he earned his PGA Tour card on Sunday.
The Englishman shot a final-round three-under 68 at the Web.com Tour Boise Open to total 267 and finish in fourth place and earn his card for the tour.
