SINGAPORE golfer Mardan Mamat finished third at the inaugural AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in Domaine de Bel Ombre yesterday.
The four-time Asian Tour winner carded a four-under 67 to finish on 12-under 272, one stroke behind South African George Coetzee (69) and Dane Thorbjorn Olesen (68).
World No. 63 Coetzee won the title - his third on the European Tour - at the second extra hole.
The overnight leader birdied the 18th hole at the Heritage Golf Club twice in the play-off.
Mardan, 47, earned US$70,069 (S$93,110) for his third-place finish in the €1 million (S$1.5 million) tournament tri-sanctioned by the Asian, European and Sunshine Tours.
