Golf: Choo Tze Huang overturns deficit to win SPGA Golf Series

SINGAPORE - A closing four-under 68 on Wednesday (Sept 13) gave Singapore golfer Choo Tze Huang a two-shot win at the SPGA Golf Series at Batam's Palm Spring Golf and Country Club.

The 30-year-old finished on six-under 210, ahead of Australian Scott Barr (73, 212) while fellow Singaporean Koh Deng Shan (68) was third on 213 in the 34-competitor field.

Choo received his winner's trophy from tournament sponsor Ju Kai Meng, managing director of Sinanju Tankers Holdings and Champions Golf. The 54-hole event was co-sponsored by Michelle Chen of Supreme Q. X. Beauty Spa.

In the senior category, Singapore Professional Golfers' Association (SPGA) president M. Murugiah closed with a 69 for a winning total of 212. He finished eight strokes clear of Isniadi (71, 220).
