Gay arbiter one up on anti-gay Wallaby

How many more times must we watch a football referee lose his authority by the use - and sometimes misuse - of VAR?

A player falls in the penalty area, the ball strikes his arm, and the ref is forced to wait until the video assistant referees - sitting in some studio hundreds of miles away - reviews the action and either calls the man in the middle over to see what he missed on a touchline TV screen - or is simply told to reverse his decision.
