He will play Richard Gonzales of the Philippines in the final, scheduled for 7.50pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The Filipino earned his spot after beating Singapore's Clarence Chew in the other semi-final.
Chew, despite being 3-1 up in the match, could not close out the match and was eventually beaten 4-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 4-11, 10-12 and had to settle for bronze.
Having also won a bronze at the 2013 edition in Naypyitaw, Myanmar, Chew had been hoping to achieve a breakthrough this time round.
He said: "I had a great chance this time round but just rushed my shots too much when I was leading. I tried my best."
