Formula One: I am staying at Ferrari, says Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso on Friday evening rubbished talk linking him with a return to McLaren, saying that he loves being at Ferrari.

His comments came a day after McLaren chief Martin Whitmarsh said that he would sign the two-time Formula One world champion, 32, "if he could".

"I keep repeating every weekend - and I don't know why I have to keep repeating - I love Ferrari and I will stay in Ferrari until the end," he said after the free practice sessions of the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.

Alonso, who clocked the sixth-best time time of the evening at 1min 45.691sec, had previously raced with McLaren in 2007, only to leave after just one season due to a fractious relationship with team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

And the Spaniard - currently second in the championship standings behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel - stressed that he has no intention of returning to the Britain-based outfit.

"It is good to have these comments but I have no intention of leaving," he said. "I have three more years with Ferrari and I hope many more to come."
