Shahril, Bennett & Mustafic will not face the Maldives and the Chinese Taipei this month

Three Lions stalwarts who combine for 110 years in age, 361 caps in experience and contributed to two Asean triumphs have been dropped from the Singapore football squad.

The Straits Times (ST) understands that skipper and playmaker Shahril Ishak (134 caps, 14 goals), and defenders Daniel Bennett (142 caps, six goals) and Mustafic Fahrudin (85 caps, eight goals), will not be included in the squad that will take on the Maldives at the National Stadium on March 23 and the dead-rubber Asian Cup qualifier in Chinese Taipei four days later.
