Alex Manninger, 39, goalkeeper (Augsburg to Liverpool)

Liverpool have signed the former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger to provide cover for Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

The veteran, who was released by Augsburg after a four-year spell last season, has been given a 12-month contract. He has been training at Melwood for the past few weeks.

Steve Walsh, 51, director of football (Leicester to Everton)

Everton have hired Leicester's head of recruitment, Steve Walsh, as their new director of football, in a bid to revitalise their transfer policy.

He was one of the unsung architects of the Foxes' shock Premier League title triumph last season and Everton made him their No. 1 choice to work with new manager Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.

Andre Schurrle, 25, winger (Wolfsburg to Borussia Dortmund)

Borussia Dortmund have secured the signing of German international Andre Schurrle, following their capture of Mario Gotze.

The former Chelsea player, who was a member of the Germany squad that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016, has signed a five-year deal at the Westfalenstadion for an undisclosed fee.
