DEFOE RETURNS TO BOURNEMOUTH

Jermain Defoe has completed a move to English Premier League club Bournemouth on a three-year deal.

The 34-year-old striker exercised a relegation release clause in his Sunderland contract and returns to the club where he had a successful loan spell early in his career.

AKE CLOSE TO JOINING THE CHERRIES

Nathan Ake is on the verge of joining Bournemouth in a club-record £20 million (S$35.9 million) transfer from Chelsea.

A deal has been agreed in principle between the clubs, leaving only minor details to resolve, with Ake expected to sign a five-year contract by tomorrow and join his new team-mates for the start of pre-season training.

BORINI TO MOVE TO MILAN ON INITIAL LOAN

Fabio Borini will have a medical examination at AC Milan as part of a proposed £5.3 million (S$9.5 million) transfer from Sunderland.

If it proceeds smoothly, the 26-year-old Italian forward will join on an initial one-year loan, with the Serie A side paying £1 million up front and the rest of the fee to follow when the deal becomes permanent next summer.
