Luis Suarez's sense of the occasion was in evidence as he scored Uruguay's opener in the 23rd minute in a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia at the Rostov Arena. It was Suarez's 100th appearance for his country and the goal also made the 31-year-old the first Uruguayan to score in three different World Cups (2010, 2014, 2018). The win ensures the South Americans will finish in the top two of Group A alongside Russia and advance to the round of 16 while the Saudis and Egypt have been eliminated. Uruguay face Russia on Monday to determine the group winners.
