Ronaldo wins Ballon d'Or and Internet goes nuts over his reaction; plus all the winners at Fifa awards

Real Madrid's Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo won his third Ballon d'Or, edging out Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to Fifa's top player award on Monday night. It brings him one behind Messi and into joint-second with Dutch great Johan Cryuff, French maestro Michel Platini and Dutch hitman Marco van Basten.

As expected, the Internet went into overdrive following the win, but not so much to honour his feat, but to poke fun at the unusual way he celebrated his hat-trick of titles.

The forward, who scored an unbelievable 52 goals in 43 games for Madrid last year, let out a might "Si!" in his victory speech.

He explained: "The scream? The players know I always do that shout when I score a goal or when we win - it's our shout, from Real Madrid. I wasn't relaxed, I was very nervous.

"It was the same last year only I did not cry. You can't always cry! I was relying on winning after the year I had."

Well he may have opted for the more macho reaction this year, but the Internet still wasted little time in mocking the world's best footballer.

But Ronaldo is likely to have the last laugh as soon after his winning his award, and while the Internet made fun of him, Nike announced that it would present Ronaldo with a pair of diamond-encrusted boots to honour his crowning as the world's best.
