It is plain to see how Adam Swandi has taken his game up another notch after spending one season with Singapore Premier League (SPL) champions Albirex Niigata, culminating in the 22-year-old being named the Young Player of the Year.

The Straits Times understands that the Japanese side will be allowed to double the number of local players on their roster for the 2019 season to four, and have identified the Young Lions duo of Saifullah Akbar and Joshua Pereira as their top targets.
