When Liverpool finally take stock of 2019, they will look back on a year that laid the foundations for a seemingly nailed-on first English top-flight title in 30 years.

Their sixth European Cup in June fulfilled a promise made by manager Jurgen Klopp to deliver a trophy within four years of his 2015 appointment.
