Israel keeper Peretz out of Paris Olympics with thigh injury

Israel goalkeeper Daniel Peretz will miss the Paris Olympics after suffering a muscle tendon injury in his thigh, his club Bayern Munich said on Thursday.

Peretz will be out for several weeks and has returned to Munich, the Bundesliga team added.

The 24-year-old joined Bayern last year from Maccabi Tel Aviv and has played twice for the club in all competitions.

Peretz was one of three players aged over 23 in Israel's Olympic squad including from Sean Goldberg and Omri Gandelman. Israel begin their campaign against Mali on July 24.

They will also face Japan and Paraguay in Group D. REUTERS
