He knows it may come back to haunt him one day and he will have his fair share of critics, but Irfan Fandi stood by his decision to turn down a contract offer from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting Braga.

"It's a very hard decision for me to take," the 21-year-old national defender told The Straits Times, who broke the news of his decision yesterday.
