National defender cites contractual issues in rejecting '2-plus-2' offer from Portuguese side

He knows it may come back to haunt him one day and he will have his fair share of critics, but Irfan Fandi stood by his decision to turn down a contract offer from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting Braga.

"It's a very hard decision for me to take," the 21-year-old national defender told The Straits Times, who broke the news of his decision yesterday.
