He suffered two leg breaks in his youth but always bounced back. For his determination and excellent displays for the Singapore Under-18 team, midfielder Joshua Bernard Pereira was named The New Paper Dollah Kassim Award winner. He received his prize from Navin Nambiar, son-in-law of the late Dollah, at Jurongville Secondary School yesterday. The first-year Temasek Polytechnic student beat five other nominees to become the sixth recipient of the award - named after the local football legend - that recognises character and footballing excellence.
