France early favourites among readers in ST's interactive Euro 2016 Predictor game

The Straits Times' Euro 2016 Predictor.

The early votes are in for The Straits Times' Euro 2016 Predictor, and hosts France are readers' favourites so far to win the continental football showpiece on July 10.

From nearly 130 entries received so far, 46 of you - or 35 per cent - looked into the crystal ball and believe Les Bleus will go all the way on home soil.

World champions Germany are close behind with 40 votes, while the ageing squad of Euro 2012 winners Spain earned just 15 selections.

England have continued their tradition of flattering to deceive, but Wayne Rooney & Co will claim the country's first major international title in 50 years - according to 10 entries.

These fans may be showcasing the same optimism as the two readers who chose Luka Modric's Croatia as eventual winners, or the lonely souls who each picked Austria and Switzerland for the top spot.

There is no wrong answer, for now.

The first round of group games may be over but there's still time for you to complete your own Euro 2016 bracket.

Prognosticating aside, you can also build your all-time Euro footballer.

Remember to share your results with #steuro2016 for a chance of winning adidas Euro jerseys for both contests.

Clearly, more than bragging rights are at stake. Happy predicting...
